Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Produced by John Fields (with Jon Lind and Kevin Jonas, Sr., serving as executive producers), 'A Little Bit Longer' covers much musical and emotional ground, kicking off with the joyful jam 'BB Good.' Says Joe of the track, 'It's a big sing-along song, and it's fun.' The funky and danceable debut single, 'Burnin' Up,' keeps the party going, with Big Rob, the brothers' hefty security guard, rapping midtrack. 'It's about this girl,' adds Joe. 'Maybe she's at a party, and you feel that immediate connection. You both know it's there.' Though relentlessly upbeat, most songs on 'A Little Bit Longer' explore star-crossed standoffs and missed romantic opportunities. Songs like 'Shelf,' the hard-rocking 'Pushin' Me Away' and 'One Man Show' survey love's unequal playing field, bad break-ups and the defiant isolation that follows. ''Shelf' is one my favorite songs on the record,' says Nick. 'Basically, it's about a girl that has a gallery of hearts.' Other songs take a light-hearted look at the craziness of fame and fortune. 'Video Girl' paints a portrait of the shallow wannabees dotting the entertainment landscape (' Move to L.A., got no talent/Not even like you won a Miss Teen pageant'), while 'Lovebug' starts out as sweet-tempered acoustic love song before ending up a crashing Queen-like rocker. Of course, the brothers made sure the album breathes. The power ballad 'Sorry' features classic JB harmonies and an eternal message of forgiveness. But the song that will have people talking is 'A Little Bit Longer,' Nick's stunning account of his struggle with diabetes. With strings underscoring a plaintive piano/vocal, he sings about his battle ('A little bit longer and I'll be fine/Waitin' on a cure/But none of them are sure'). Recalls Nick, 'I was having one of those days where I was discouraged. So I went into this empty hotel ballroom and wrote this song.' Adds brother Kevin, 'Nick sings this song every night and it brings people to tears. It's amazing.' The brand new album from the Jonas Brothers includes a 30 page CDVU+ experience including: Exclusive Video Performances 60 Printable Photos Complete Album Lyrics Downloadable Graphics Hidden Links Package Made from 100% Recycled Materials!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's It's Good!
Before I heard this album, I thought the Jonas Brothers were Disney's answer to Hanson for a younger generation. Let's face it...three good looking brothers together as a band...how can you not make a comparison? I was surprised and relieved, however, to find out that this album is actually pretty good, and more importantly the Jonas Brothers write and perform their own music. Songs like "BB Good" and "Love Bug" are well written and catchy. They sound a bit over-polished and radio-friendly though. I would be interested in hearing their demo versions before the record company coated them with sugar. Good quality music doesn't need to have an expensive finishing touch. As long as it's got heart, it will win you over. I think the Jonas Brothers will be around for a while, and I look forward to hearing more music from them.

Other albums I bought that sound like this are: Sloopjohnd , The Walk and Jonas Brothers

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - great music...annoying after a while though...
* so the music itself is good...i don't care about the ama's or anything, their morals have nothing to do with the music, same with their fans.

the ALBUM is what matters here.

i love the lyrics, and the guitar work is pretty darn awesome for how young they are. the only downside is that this music can be listened to for exactly a week before it gets super annoying. of course, you could do what i did - you can always go back to it in a few months and its okay.

overall, a great album to buy if you got a lot of money, but if you're stretched financially and want something to last you, buy some mozart or chopin or something because this one will get annoying quick.

you gotta love kevin's sideburns, though. ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awsome
Love bug is my favorite song ever!I used to sit around in my room listening to High School Musical Cds on my Cd player but ever since I got this Cd its like the only thing I listen to!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - -10
* I hadn't ever heard \"their\" music until i flipped through the AMA's. Not only can they not sing, write their own lyrics or write their own songs, they don't even play instruments. 2 of the Jonas' nancys were \"fake\" playing the guitar. This is even worse than lip syncing. Pretending to play a guitar to a prerecorded track is a travesty and disrespectful to people with brains everywhere. It's a good thing people that like this don't have brains. If i had kids and they liked this i would drive them to Nebraska. (ok, maybe that was harsh, i wouldnt do that). But this type of music will never be allowed in my house. ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good Job
It came on time, It was in perfect condition. I will definitely buy from this seller again

The Pharos GPS Phone 600e isn't a horrible smart phone, but the lack of navigation software and subpar call quality detracts from its overall appeal. Plus, you can get more for your money with other GPS-enabled smart phones.

The rolling hills of Tennessee farmland, framed in lovely patchwork quilt patterns, set the stage for Dolly Parton's (of Grand Ol' Opry fame) warm childhood memories. The text comes directly from Parton's autobiographical hit country and western song of the same name. Perhaps the grammar is imperfect, but what C&W song ain't rife with grammatical errors--it's part of the vernacular. The story centers on a poor, but happy and loving, family (yes, they do exist) who find clever ways to deal with their poverty. As winter approaches, Mama sews a coat for her daughter from a box of scraps that someone has given her. Of course her classmates make fun of her for having a coat made of rags. But sticks and stones... "And although we had no money / I was rich as I could be / in my coat of many colors / that Mama made for me." That doesn't mean the child's feelings aren't hurt, or that she didn't feel angry. But the message comes through loud and clear (like Parton's voice): the child's mother has provided her with the strength to deal with other children's jeers, and family love can sometimes be enough to pull a person through.

The trend toward interactive video games—with an emphasis on "active"—is a welcome one for parents and kids alike. Play TV Baseball 3 is an updated version of the earlier version of the virtual reality game, with loads of realistic touches that will have baseball fans jumping off the sidelines and into the game. Simply plug the base into your TV or VCR, pick up the wireless bat, and play ball! Play against a friend or choose from one of 12 teams. Rules are the same as regular baseball, whether you’re at the plate, on the mound, or in the field: swing away for a home run, lay down a bunt to advance base runners, steal a base, strike out the batter with six different pitches (fastball, curve, screwball, slider, splitter, or change up), or field the ball and choose which base runner to throw out—or maybe you’ll turn a double play! Entertaining music and commentary included. Games need never be called on account of rain again! For 1 to 4 players. Six AA batteries required (not included). --Emilie Coulter

This decade-spanning compilation charts the singer-dancer-actress's transformation from rebellious teenager to sexy diva, along the way check-listing major hits like "Nasty," "Miss You Much," "What Have You Done for Me Lately?" and "Rhythm Nation." Two new tracks bookend the set, but even the older material--most of it helmed by writer-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis--holds up remarkably well. --Courtney Kemp

Why is Janet Jackson's Janet the best Michael Jackson album since Thriller and the best Madonna album since..., well, since ever? Perhaps it's because Michael's kid sister is the only one of these three aerobic video stars with enough smarts to realize that sex, hooks, and beats are all that matter in this field of lightweight dance pop. Or perhaps it's because the sexuality Janet radiates through her sweet melodies and hip-tugging grooves is so much more credible than Michael's arrested prepubescence or Madonna's nothing-personal-just-business comeons. After her embarrassing posture as a sociocultural analyst on 1989's Rhythm Nation 1814, Janet has returned to her strength--using her odd mix of girlishness and maturity to make dance numbers about personal relationships ring exceptionally true. Even so, the 75-minute, 27-track Janet doesn't really work as an album; there's too much filler and the between-song transitions quickly grow tiresome. The album is full of killer singles, though, starting with such proven cuts as the extremely slinky "That's the Way Love Goes" and rock-guitar-driven "If," and featuring such future hits as the Prince-like "This Time," the Motown-like "Because of Love," the breathy ballad "Where Are You Now" and the inspired Stax cover, "What'll I Do. --Geoffrey Himes
$7.97

Picking up where the breakthrough funk-pop of Control left off, Janet Jackson and her production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis laced Rhythm Nation with high-minded references to societal ills--seldom the favored province of dance music, but a daring attempt nonetheless. Songs like "State of the World" and "The Knowledge" follow in the tradition of "free your mind and your ass will follow." Still, aside from the title track, it was the pure pop fare and dance music that stormed the charts: "Escapade," "Love Will Never Do (Without You)," "Alright," and "Come Back to Me" concentrate on the politics of personal relationships, not public policy, while "Black Cat" burns the place down with a fierce burst of hard rock. Rhythm Nation 1814 doesn't necessarily hang together thematically, but it's so chock full of hits, you scarcely notice. --Daniel Durchholz
